We presented the Jolly Phonics program and the Reading disability types and Inclusive strategies to support learners.

Setareki Baleisuva Delana

Setareki Baleisuva Delana

Setareki B. Delana is a Senior Curriculum Specialist for Reading/LANA at the Ministry of Education in Fiji and a national literacy champion. With 26 years of teaching experience and nearly 20 years as a Literacy Specialist, he has taught across all levels of primary school and conducted lesson observations, demonstrations, and nationwide monitoring of reading and writing. Since pioneering Structured Synthetic Phonics (SSP) with Jolly Phonics in 2008, he has led Fiji’s literacy reform, and today all schools are encouraged to adopt SSP. From 2023–2026, he trained over 2,000 teachers, student teachers and communuties.
