Independent Operation

Official Jolly Trainers operate independently. Schools contract and pay trainers directly for their services. This means you have the flexibility to set your own schedule and pricing while being backed by the official Jolly Learning certification.

Please apply when you are confident that your qualifications, teaching experience, and Jolly programme knowledge put you in a strong position.

Teaching qualification

A teaching qualification in Early Years, Primary Education, General Primary Education, Languages or similar.

Teaching experience

In-class or curriculum teaching experience, supported by a verified teaching role that reflects classroom practice.

Programme experience

Proven in-class experience using Jolly Phonics and other Jolly programmes, including planning examples and support videos.

Prior Jolly Learning Training

Completion of Jolly Phonics or Jolly Grammar training, whether self-taught, through a CPD course, or with an official trainer.

Application Process

Here's what to expect when you apply

  1. Step 1

    Apply Online

    Share your credentials, experience, and a short covering statement explaining how you meet the criteria.

  2. Step 2

    Demo Video

    Record your own video to demonstrate the Jolly Phonics method, resource use, implementation pace, support strategies, and desired outcomes.

  3. Step 3

    Initial Interview

    You'll be asked questions about using Jolly Phonics and, where applicable, Jolly English, Jolly Classroom, or Jolly Literacy.

  4. Step 4

    Final Interview

    You'll be asked to give a short presentation on a specific topic related to training.
